Balkis joined the Mediterranean Region Programme as a Researcher in October 2022.
Balkis is a practitioner and researcher in the field of peace and security, certified trainer, facilitator and engagement, and youth programs’ management & design specialist with more than 5 years of experience in the non-profit sector. She is a trainer of conflict resolution, activism, and youth inclusive peacebuilding, and expert in online engagement programs with an innovative approach in the Middle East & Africa. Balkis is an advocate of activism, social cohesion and change, human rights and dignity, WPS & YPS, and youth leadership with a proven ability to mentor young people around the globe. Balkis has obtained functional expertise in research, international development, project design & management, outreach and engagement, peace and security programming, conflict resolution training, inter-cultural communication, public speaking, writing and editing, advocacy, and translation.
