Researcher, South East Europe and Black Sea region
Esra Serim joined the Peace and Security Monitor as a researcher in August 2022. She was a panelist on the Programme’s 18 August event “War in Ukraine and Impact on Arms Trade and Militarism: South East Europe and the Black Sea Region”, speaking on Turkish-made Drones in Ukraine and Turkish Foreign Policy.
Dr. A. EsraSerim is a researcher in the field of Political Science and International Relations. She taught and conducted many seminars in Sciences Po d’Aix at University of Aix-Marseille, France.
Her doctoral dissertation, entitled The Iranian Factor in the Context of US-Turkey Relations, addressed the nuclear program of Iran and its effects on the US-Turkey relationship since the end of the Cold War. Her research focuses on disarmament, arms control, conventional weapons, and nuclear security.
Her published works deal with Iran, nuclear security, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and missile systems. She received her Ph.D. from Sciences Po d’Aix, France in 2020, and a visiting researcher at George Washington University in 2017. She is currently an Emerging Expert on Washington DC based Forum on the Arms Trade.
