
Fatima Umar
Senior Researcher, The Mediterranean Region Programme
Fatima Umar joined Platform for Peace and Humanity in April 2021. Fatima has contributed to the Platform for Peace and Humanity by working as Peace and Security Researcher and has authored various research articles and brief situation reports.
Fatima Umar is a Peace and Conflict Studies student at National Defence University, Islamabad. She completed her initial years of education at Islamabad Convent School. She has done several courses related to her field from the United States Institute of Peace and Harvard University on Conflict Analysis, Introduction to Peacebuilding, and Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster, respectively.
She is a Research Assistant for PolicyEast, a Columnist for The Nation, and an author of various articles for The Frontier Post and Modern Diplomacy. She is an Intern at the National Archives of Pakistan.
Fatima is serving as Peace and Security Researcher at Platform for Peace and Humanity. She has served as Pakistan Correspondent, Editor, and later as Editor-in-Chief at Pandemic Periods, a global organization.
Apart from this, she is the host and head organizer of departmental events at the university such as seminars, symposiums, conferences, and other formal events.
