Fatima Umar

Senior Researcher

Fatima Umar joined Platform for Peace and Humanity in April 2021 as Peace and Security Researcher in the Mediterranean Programme and has authored various research articles and brief situation reports.

Fatima has graduated Summa Cum Laude with BS in Peace and Conflict Studies from National Defence University, Islamabad. She works as Editor-in-Chief at Student Think Tank for Europe Asia Relations, where she formerly served as Associate Editor. She is also a Research Member at the IAPSS Crisis Observatory Cohort.

 

She has completed several prestigious courses, namely: Harvard University’s Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster, USIP’s Introduction to Peacebuilding, Conflict Management and Transformation, Conflict Analysis, DCAF’s Introduction to Conflict Analysis and NUST’s 7th International Peace and Stability Course.

 

Formerly, she worked as a Research Assistant for PolicyEast, as an Intern at the National Archives of Pakistan and Pakistan Correspondent and Editor-in-Chief at Pandemic Periods. She often writes for national and international media platforms. Apart from her research and editorial skills, she has vast experience organising and hosting conferences and seminars.
