YOUTH AMBASSADOR FOR THE RIGHT TO PEACE FOR ireland
Originally from Northern Ireland, Jonathan King (Johnny Mac an Rí) is a final-year Law student at Trinity College Dublin and has lived in the Republic of Ireland for the last several years. He has a strong interest in Human Rights Law and Public International Law, particularly in terms of the evolving nature of the European Convention on Human Rights and how the coronavirus crisis is impacting individuals’ rights and freedoms. He has worked with several international NGOs in researching and implementing projects related to healthcare, women’s rights, and children’s rights in impoverished and ethnic minority communities. In addition, Jonathan is passionate about preserving and encouraging the use of the Irish language, and is a trainee steam locomotive engineer at an Irish steam railway.
