On 9 December 2021, Varun Vivekanandan, Youth Ambassador for the Right to Peace for India, launched his national campaign for the recognition of the right to peace in India with a lecture given to approximately one hundred law students of CSI College for Legal Studies, Kanakkary, Kottayam, a law college affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

In his lecture, Varun explored the international legal framework relevant for the right to peace and legislative, executive and judicial approaches for the recognition of the right in India. Varun has also expressed his support and desire for India to become a State Party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
