Rastislav serves as the Executive Director and the Ukraine Programme Director.
He founded the Platform in late 2016. In 2017, he led an advocacy campaign to activate the ICC’s jurisdiction over the crime of aggression. In 2020, he designed and launched “Weekly News Recap” as a tool for educating and informing the public. In 2021, he created and launched the global advocacy programme campaigning for the human right to peace. Rastislav has represented the Platform at the 2022 AI and Human Rights Forum. Following the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he launched the Platform’s Ukraine Programme.
Rastislav is the founding Director of the Platform for Peace and Humanity and presently leads the Platform’s Ukraine Programme as its Programme Director. Rastislav holds an LL.M. degree in international criminal justice and armed conflict from the University of Nottingham, a Doctor of law degree from Comenius University in Slovakia and a Master’s degree in law from Pan European University in Slovakia. He served in various positions at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, the office of the International Organization for Migration in Slovakia and the Ministry of Justice of Slovakia. His professional experience has also developed in various positions and projects at the International Criminal Court, Kosovo Specialist Chambers, the Human Rights Law Centre at the University of Nottingham, Amnesty International Slovakia and the Syrian Legal Development Programme. He has experience with the litigation of international protection cases from the Czech Republic.
