Yaren joined the Platform in September 2024 as a Researcher of the Mediterranean Programme.

Yaren brings experience in peacebuilding, civil society, and migration focusing on Türkiye and its bridging role between Europe, the Caucasus, and the Middle East. She is a dedicated researcher with an educational background in Global History and International Relations at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where her Master’s thesis focused on the dynamics of civil society in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  Passionate about fostering dialogue and collaboration, she aims to contribute to peacekeeping initiatives that promote understanding and cooperation across cultures. Additionally, she has acquired significant experience through her internships in various government institutions, including the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and the Directorate for EU Affairs within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, equipping her with a better understanding of policy-making and governance. With her experience and dedication to fostering understanding, Yaren is inspired to drive positive change in her field.
