Umedjon joined the Central Asia Programme at Platform for Peace and Humanity as a Researcher in July 2025.
Umedjon Majidi is a researcher, policy analyst, and development professional with over ten years of experience in governance, international relations, sustainable development, anti-corruption, and donor-funded programme management across Central Asia. He holds a PhD in International Relations and Diplomacy, an MA in Corruption and Governance from the University of Sussex, and an MA in Politics with specialization in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University. His professional background includes work with international organizations, civil society, academia, and research institutions, including experience in programme coordination, policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, monitoring and evaluation, partnership development, and research on green diplomacy, regional cooperation, peace and security, and sustainable development. He has contributed to academic publications, policy papers, analytical reports, and international conferences, with a strong focus on Central Asia’s governance, environmental diplomacy, and development challenges.
My thematic areas of interest include international relations, green diplomacy, sustainable development, governance, anti-corruption, and regional cooperation in Central Asia. I am particularly interested in the intersection of environmental governance, climate policy, water diplomacy, green economy transition, and sustainable finance. My research and professional interests also cover peace and security, youth radicalization and digital spaces, public integrity, institutional reform, donor-funded programme management, and the role of education, innovation, and digital transformation in advancing inclusive and sustainable development.
